St Andrew Street Traders back Church's Well-Being Centre!
The close relationship between the St Andrew St Trader's Association and St Andrew's Church was further cemented last week when the traders presented a cheque for almost £350 to members of the Church on Wednesday 14 December.
The money raised by a raffle and auction at their annual Christmas Dinner will go towards the new St Andrews Centre being planned by the church for the well-being of the whole community, a vision shared and supported by the traders. Rev Alan Stewart, Vicar of Hertford St Andrews, said:
"Humankind relies on human kindness. That responsibility for the well-being of our community lies at the heart if the vision for the St Andrews Centre. We are already engaging with these needs through youth and children’s clubs, Toddler and other groups. Our aim is to extend our existing work and to develop new partnerships with other groups and organisations that share a similar ethos."
Almost half the £400,000 needed has now been raised, with building hoping to start mid-way through the coming year and a number of future promotional and fund-raising events planned.
